BING REWARDS REVIEW

Searching is something you do everyday so why not get paid for it? Even though it will not make you rich, using Bing Rewards will net you probably $5-$10 a month for doing something you most likely do everyday. Many of you are probably already familiar with Swagbucks and possibly Bing Rewards. And if you are familiar with both, you probably also already have a preference on which one you like. My assumption is Swagbucks due to more earning opportunities. Despite this, I am going to go in depth into Bing Rewards and why I like it more.

The reason why I like Bing more than Swagbucks is the interface and the less “randomness” to earning. With Bing Rewards, the interface is better (especially the images page) and you can for sure get at least 15 credits a day by doing 30 searches. Oh yeah one more thing, you only have to wait a maximum of 24 hours to receive your reward, while Swagbucks takes up to two weeks unless you speed up the process by using more of your Swag Bucks.

Don’t get me wrong, Swagbucks is still great and we gave it raving reviews. Swagbucks has more potential to earn, but it requires more time in terms of searches and everything. Bing Rewards is for someone who doesn’t want to spend that much time trying to earn points, someone who just wants to stick with doing what they normally do and earn a set amount. With Swagbucks you get unpredictability. You could go 10-20 searches without earning anything. With CeploiTips, our goal is to help you save and make money. A part of doing that is making sure you do not do things that become a waste of time.

With Bing, that will not be a problem with the daily earning limit. With Swagbucks, on the other hand, you may get carried away doing surveys, watching videos or frequently search spamming until you get points. Doing this becomes to be a burden and in the end, when you look back at it, you may be spending hours for a reward that can be less than minimum wage!

Anyways let’s dive more deep into Bing Rewards instead of debating between Swagbucks and Bing Rewards.

Signing up

Signing up to Bing Rewards requires a Microsoft account or Facebook account, which may be annoying if you are trying to sign up with a GMail account or something along those lines. When you initially start out, you are first rewarded with about 20 credits and depending on when you sign up, you may get a bunch of tutorials that allow you to earn more. Typically linking Facebook accounts allows you to earn more credits also (50 when I signed up).

Earning With Bing Rewards

Earning with Bing Rewards is simple. All you can do to get credits is search. Every 2 searches, earns you one credit. You are capped at 30 searches which is 15 credits. In addition you can earn a couple more through the Rewards tab where there is usually some search offers where you click on the link to earn typically one credit. Sometimes there is a promotion to earn more. Once I got around 50 credits I think, it may have been more for testing out the Bing vs Google Challenge. So always check the Rewards section.

There are also three membership levels with Member, Silver and Gold Status. There are certain things you need to level up and maintain your status. Typically Gold is the most coveted since it gives you a discount on rewards that you purchase with your credits. For example, a $5 Amazon Gift Card costs 525 credits without Gold, but it costs 475 credits with Gold. 50 credits is a lot and it will add up, so getting Gold status and maintaining it should be a priority if you use Bing Rewards.

In terms of referrals, Swagbucks beats Bing Rewards. With Bing Rewards, you get 10 credits per referral, but you can only get 10 referrals for 100 credits before you no longer earn credits for referrals. Swagbucks, on the other hand, lets you earn up to 1,000 Swag Bucks for what your referral earns through searches.

Even if you do not use search engines often, you can still quickly earn the 15 point limit (30 searches) in about 2 minutes. Just go to the images tab and click any of the trending images links, which do count as searches.

By using Bing Rewards and even Swagbucks you may be forced to switch your routine depending on which search engine you use now. If you use Google, it may take time to adjust to using Bing. However, we have a solution to that problem and it is another reason we like Bing Rewards more. The answer is Bingo. This is a plugin for Google Chrome that allows you to use Google’s Search Engine but still earn with Bing Rewards.

Redeeming

The good news is that although Bing says it may take up to 24 hours to receive your reward, usually it takes way less than that. In fact, I have received mine within a couple of minutes before. For people who wait waiting, this is another reason to like Bing Rewards over Swabucks. With Swabucks, you will be waiting up to 14 days unless you want to pony up more Swagbucks.

Cashout Proof. Second payment I got from Bing. Took about 3 weeks.

Another good thing is that you get to choose the email you want the reward to be sent to. So if you made a Microsoft account just to join Bing Rewards, you do not have to worry about checking that email. Some things you can redeem for are Starbucks, Fandango, and Amazon gift cards. So the reward wall is not as big as Swagbucks, but still pretty good since Amazon is available as a redemption option.

Verdict

I love using Google as my primary search engine, which makes it hard for me to consistently use Swagbucks. With Bing Rewards, however, I am able to use Bingo as a plugin and still earn with Bing Rewards. Sure Swagbucks is powered by Bing and Google, supposedly, but in my experience their interface is mediocre (especially the images) compared to Google. In terms of Bing, there search engine is ok, but from my experience, I still get the results I want through Google. As a result, I love to have something that lets me still use Google as a search engine. With Bingo, you can use Google and make money with Bing Rewards.

However, even without Bingo, Bing Rewards is as great if not better than Swagbucks. You can easily make $5 in a month with a couple of minutes a day, quickly clicking trending images in Bing and earn the set amount before quitting. While it won’t be much, who can complain about $5 for doing literally nothing or doing something you may already be doing?

In terms of Swagbucks vs Bing Rewards if you are someone who will put in the time to earn, Swagbucks will be the better option. If you are someone, who does not want to devote much of your free time and going out of your way to earn money, Bing Rewards will be the better choice. Bing is the idea of doing what you are already doing, while Swagbucks is more of going out of your way to earn. Sure, possibly earning $25-$30 a month with Swagbucks may be appealing, but to do that you have to go out of your way to frequently search, watch videos, do surveys and many other things. But then you may realize that you may be making a poor amount for the time you spend, which can be better spend elsewhere.

That’s not to say you should not use Swagbucks or even both. If you want to maximize your earning potential, go ahead and use both search engines. My point is don’t get caught up in earning to the point where you are wasting your time. Bing Rewards allows you not to get caught up, but with Swagbucks you may. So remember, whenever you look for ways to make money, keep the time you may have to spend in mind.

Superpoints-FAQ

If you haven’t already heard, Superpoints has returned, but they have returned with major changes. Whether those changes are for the worst or the best are still up to debate but we are here to make the transition a little bit better as we try to explain everything in one page!

First things first, Superpoints is a invite-only site that can only be joined by people in the United States. You can earn points by doing offers that appear in the sidebars (must disable ad blocker for them to appear), inviting members, and clicking the SuperLucky Button. In terms of how much you can earn from the SuperLucky Button, the lowest I have seen was 1 Superpoints and the highest was 1,000 Superpoints.

One thing to note is that referrals can earn you more points then just the sign up bonus and they are generally the best and fastest way to earning large rewards. Not only will you get 2,500 Superpoints when they sign up but you will also continue to get Superpoints from them whenever they do activities that earn them points. In short, try to expand your network as much as you can. Try posting in forums, comments, pages and other places you can think of.

Once you level up, you will be able to sponsor members that will not only be added to your network but they will earn you Superpoints! This would be a easy way to get new referrals if you are having trouble since you can sponsor members weekly and get 1,000 points for each sponsor (up to a certain limit depending on your membership level). Update: While sponsoring users may be easy, it is hard to sponsor users since there are so many Superpoints users that the list is mostly empty.

To earn superpoints besides referrals and clicking the SuperLucky Button, click the home tab, click the start earning points banner and then amazing offers. Here, you can complete offers that will give you Superpoints. Some offers can be super easy so make sure to check them out each day. For example, I got 47 Superpoints for just clicking a link that led me to Coupons.com. There are also other easy offers like join Bing Rewards that will give you 560 Superpoints.

So what can help you level up? Things like opening a SuperLucky eMail, signing into the site (once daily), clicking the SuperLucky Button, recruiting new members… gives you XP. You can earn more XP doing these tasks by increasing your Karma Level. For example a level 0 would not earn any XP from clicking the SuperLuck Button or opening the LuckyMail. A Level 5, however, would earn 2 XP+ for completing 100+ SuperLucky Button clicks or opening 1 LuckyMail on 7 of 7 days.

Leveling up is important since it unlocks certain rewards for you to redeem, allows you to sponsor members, get more SuperLucky button spins and get children from invites. Currently I have no idea what children from invites are since I am only a Bronze member but my feeling is that when someone you invite also invites someone, that someone will also be added to your network for you to earn points. How great is that?

From what I gathered so far 1,350 points is equivalent to about $1, so each referral can get you about $2! That’s a pretty decent amount and that is not taking into account the Superpoints they can earn for you for being in your network.

Once you are able to redeem for your reward, it will take a couple of days for it to process. Not only will your mailing address have to be verified the first time (sadly, rewards are now mailed and not emailed to you:(), but you will also have to wait the typical 7 business days for rewards to be processed.

Rewards that I have seen so far include: $10 Target Gift Card (XP Level 3), $10 Amazon Gift Card (XP Level 5), $25 Fandango Movie Card, $25 Starbucks Card, Syma S107G 3.5 Channel RC Helicopter with Gyro, 2x Panasonic 152″ TV and some unrealistic prizes such as a $2 Million Dream Home.

Rewards and their Superpoints cost breakdown (will be updated as I find out):

  • $10 Target Gift Card = 13,500 Superpoints
  • $10 Amazon Gift Card = 13,333 Superpoints
  • $25 Fandango Movie Card =
  • $25 Starbucks Gift Card =

I have already requested my first prize and I will get back to everyone regarding on the status of the shipment and how long it takes to receive it. For now, feel free to post your referral link if you are already a member or join through me or anyone in the comments below if you are not.

Update regarding prize redemption: It took 8 days for Superpoints to email me after the initial confirmation of my prize redemption. They emailed me and had me reply YES to the email to confirm my mailing address was correct. Also it appears as if you cannot redeem the same item twice as I no longer see Amazon (or Target for that matter) as a option.

2nd Update: Took about three weeks for the whole process to be done and for me to get my prize via email.

About Swagbucks

How it works

Although it may be bewildering why a company would pay you to do anything online, most companies understand that the average person spends a lot of time online; which may in turn reveal things about their likes, dislikes and personality. Swagbucks pays you to do a variety of things online because they are taking that information to sell to other companies because the info goes a long way in helping companies target certain products to a demography. They also run advertisements throughout their site to earn money to reward users.

Earnings/Cashout

By using Swagbucks you can earn virtual money called “Swag Bucks” which you can in turn redeem for a variety of things like gift cards, physical items, paypal money, or even charity. Each Swag Buck is about equivalent to a dollar but this varies from prize to prize. A $5 Amazon gift card would cost 450 Swag Bucks while a $5 paypal gift card would cost 700 Swag Bucks. However their point system is messed up. Generally when you redeem a higher priced gift card it would be equivalent or cheaper. Like a $25 Amazon gift card would cost 2,250 Swag Bucks or lower. However, a $25 Amazon gift card cost 3,150 Swag Bucks so when you cashout, I recommend NOT saving for high prizes.

Once you find a prize you desire in the Swag Store and you have enough points to redeem it, all that is left for you to do is to click Snag This. After which, you must verify your prize by email or entering a security code. If you do not verify your prize, your order becomes canceled and your Swag Bucks are returned to you. Prizes generally take up to 14 business days to arrive and unfortunately it is not instant.

Ways to Earn

  1. Search Engine: The easiest way to earn is to search for information and other things using their search engine. Supposedly you can earn from 1 – 1,000 Swagbucks from winning but I have rarely saw more than 10 on a regular day. Fridays are Mega Swag Bucks Day (MSBD) which means better odds of winning high value Swag Bucks starting at 20 SB’s and up the the 1,000 that they referred to in their FAQ. A tip for this is to bookmark sites you visit everyday. Just search sites that you visit often like Facebook, Gmail, etc on Swagbucks and bookmark the results page. Go to the bookmarked results page everyday instead of going directly to the site and it will research it like you regularly typed it. However, don’t search for the same things everyday as it might get you a warning if all you search is Facebook everyday. Otherwise, your account could potentially be disable for what Swagbucks may think is a robotic search program. If you are shown the rules while you are searching it means that you are searching too frequently and you may need to tone it down. Not on par with Google but it can be used to search minor things like definitions and websites.
  2. Swagbucks Toolbar: You can earn 1 SB daily and it allows you to easily search for things. The toolbar is only available for Firefox, Chrome and IE and the Safari one is coming soon. Additionally, you may at times receive notifications of Swagcodes that you can enter on the homepage of the site.
  3. Follow the Swagbucks Blog: You can find giveaways and new features at Swagbucks on their blog. On top of this, there is usually at least 1 Swagcode posted here a day and this is the perfect place to find one.
  4. Print Coupons: On top of being able to save money on things you are going to buy anyways, you can earn 10 Swag Bucks for each coupon you use. However, it takes up to 12 weeks for it to credit into your account.
  5. Swagbucks TV: Watch 10 videos and you can earn 3 Swag Bucks using Swagbucks TV. You can earn up to 75 points a day from this method. The best way to do this is to multitask and turn on the video while you a watching a tv show, browsing the web or doing homework.
  6. Daily Poll: Takes 10 seconds to answer the poll and you earn 1 Swag Buck.
  7. Performing Tasks: Very time consuming and a waste of time. You can earn anywhere from 1-40 Swag Bucks for completing a task.
  8. Special Offers: There are a some free offers but they generally are time consuming and I would not recommend trial offers as you may forget to cancel the subscription making it a possible waste of money.
  9. Trusted Surveys: The surveys are generally like other paid surveys instead they pay you in Swag Bucks. Some people may like doing them and others may find it very time consuming. On top of this, while others may be good at them, others may spend several minutes filling out pre-survey questions only to find out they do not qualify. I wouldn’t recommend it, but if you enjoy surveys go on right ahead.
  10. Games: I find the games boring but if you enjoy computer games its worth a shot. You can generally earn more by playing the tournaments but you can also lose since there is usually a fee to play making it a waste of time and money to play the games unless your really good.
  11. NOSO: Go through the No Obligation Special Offers and you will earn 2 SB’s. This generally takes 15-20 seconds just skipping through all the offers.
  12. Groupon: If you are going to purchase a Groupon offer purchase it through Swagbucks and you can earn 150-300 Swag Bucks for your puchase.
  13. Trade-In: If you have anything old you want to get rid of, look up the item, print out the shipping label and go to the post office. Once your trade-in is purchased you will be rewarded your Swag Bucks. However, I wouldn’t recommend this as you can earn more through selling it yourself most likely through Ebay.
  14. Social Media: Use Twitter and Facebook to find Swagcodes. You can also use Facebook to find suggestions on what to search. Sometimes I earn double-digit Swag Bucks for searching things recommended by other users on their page. In terms of Twitter you can earn 100 SB’s for tweeting the hashtag #Swagbucks or doing Twitter Trivia.
  15. Referrals: You can earn up to 1,000 matching SB’s from your referral’s searches.

Tips to Earn 100 SB’s a Day (Equivalent to about $25-30 Amazon gift cards a Month)

  • Search and get around 10-20 Swag Bucks a day (bookmark frequently visited sites that you searched for using SwagBucks search but don’t solely search for this)
  • Input Swagcodes when you can for 1-15 Swag Bucks a day.
  • Go Through NOSO for 2 Swag Bucks
  • Daily Poll for 1 Swag Buck
  • Toolbar Daily Use for 1 Swag Buck
  • Watch 250 videos for 75 Swag Bucks while multitasking.

Pros and Cons

Swagbucks claim to be the only place you can what you want without spending a dime. Although this is untrue (Superpoints, Viggle, etc…), Swagbucks is great because you can slowly earn doing things that many do everyday. While there search engine is not on par with Google, using it to search definitions, websites or minor info is the perfect way to go. There are many ways to earn and their referral system can allow you to earn 1,000 matching SB’s. They also provide a wide variety of prizes from Amazon gift cards to PayPal money.

However, not everything is all rosy with Swagbucks. It can take a while to earn and usually the max you can make is around $25 a month with excessive Swagbucking. There search engine is also not on par with Google’s and their ads blend in with the search results which can be at times very annoying. Additionally, it may take up to 14 business days to receive your prize, which is a long time and can be annoying.
